Why an ecotax in addition to the tourist tax?
At le bois fleuri camping, we are committed to preserving the exceptional environment around us and taking concrete action for more sustainable tourism. It is as part of this responsible approach that we have implemented an ecotax, in addition to the tourist tax.
What is the difference between the tourist tax and the ecotax?
- The tourist tax is a contribution paid to the community of communes. It is used to finance the tourist development of the area (beach maintenance, public facilities, tourist communication, etc.).
- The ecotax, on the other hand, is a modest but essential contribution, directly used by our establishment to limit our environmental impact.
What is the ecotax actually used for?
The funds collected through the ecotax allow us to:
- Implement selective sorting and manage waste responsibly,
- Use eco-responsible cleaning products,
- Install low energy or water consumption equipment (LED lighting, aerators, etc.),
- Maintain our green spaces without pesticides,
- Promote short supply chains and local products in our services,
- And much more!
A useful and responsible contribution
The ecotax represents a few cents per day per person, but it plays a key role in the ecological transition of our camping. Thanks to it, every holidaymaker becomes an actor in more respectful and committed tourism.
We sincerely thank you for your understanding and your participation in this collective effort.
Waste management
Concerned about the environment, the camping has implemented a policy aimed at optimizing waste management. To this end, holidaymakers are invited to sort their waste and dispose of it at a special point at the entrance to the camping site.
Always needing to be environmentally friendly, the majority of products used to maintain the premises and green spaces are eco-labelled. Furthermore, as paper use contributes to deforestation, the camping promotes digital documents for its internal and customer communications. Similarly, it uses as little packaging and non-biodegradable products as possible, such as disposable tableware. Finally, the camping encourages its guests to favour “zero-waste” accessories (water bottles, reusable bags…)
Optimized water and electricity consumption
Reducing water and energy use is good for the planet. For this, the eco-friendly le bois fleuri camping encourages its guests to take shorter showers. For its part, the establishment has equipped its rentals with timed taps and aerators to reduce water flow and prevent waste.
Regarding electricity savings, the mobile homes at our camping are equipped with low-consumption bulbs and lighting regulation systems. Also, a twilight switch is installed to manage outdoor lighting. In addition to these devices, the camping invites campers to turn off lights in unoccupied rooms, and to use the air conditioning only after closing doors and windows, and only when necessary.
Finally, as the Argelès eco-campsite has a contract with a renewable energy supplier, some of its buildings, such as the restaurant, are equipped with solar panels.

Reducing food waste
Limiting food waste is an eco-responsible act. That’s why our eco-responsible camping site offers different portions to suit everyone’s needs. In parallel, the eco-friendly camping in Argelès-sur-Mer has set up Take Away options at the bar, as well as a large “Free” box in the heart of its mini-market. This crate is designed to collect unopened or non-perishable products that some customers have forgotten or donated on departure. To encourage families, this nature campsite in Argelès-sur-Mer strongly encourages them to waste less.
Promoting more responsible purchasing
Eco-responsible camping favors sustainable, eco-labeled equipment for its rentals and other facilities. To this end, it buys wooden furniture grown in sustainably managed forests.
Optimizing employee travel
In managing its employees, the camping nature à Argelès-sur-Mer also opts for an eco-responsible policy. Among other things, it promotes telecommuting and encourages carpooling as a complement to shared fleets for employees.
Finally, awareness-raising continues with training in eco-actions and the importance of green tourism. All staff and the environmental manager at the Argelès Ecological Campsite take part in these training courses.
Optimizing occupant well-being
In a committed approach to sustainable tourism, our eco-responsible camping makes every effort to combine comfort, relaxation, and respect for the environment. Our activities are designed to limit their ecological impact, particularly through reasoned water management in aquatic areas, such as the swimming pool, to preserve this precious resource.
We also encourage soft mobility: bicycles are available for rent thanks to our partnerships with local businesses, allowing our guests to discover the surroundings while reducing their carbon footprint.
Alternatively, they have the option to take a shuttle to reach the town centre and the beach from the camping. For holidaymakers travelling in electric vehicles, the camping provides 6 charging stations.
